Breville Juice Fountains are famous as the first wide feed tube juicer and the JE900 Professional model continues that tradition. Still the only home juicer with a centered feed tube and cutting assembly, Breville has really hit on something that works and works well. While other juicers have feed tubes that are offset from the cutters, resulting in uneven pressure and inconsistent results, the Juice Fountain Professional feeds the food directly onto the dual-bladed knife. The machine efficiently shreds the ingredients into tiny particles and forces it against the filter. The three inches round feed tube means you can insert more whole items like tomatoes, peeled oranges, apples, and handfuls of carrots.

The strange looking micro-mesh filter has holes that are so tiny you can't even see them. Looks are deceiving though because the design is very effective. The total juicing area is increased and extraction is more complete. Rind and seed particles are effectively blocked from making their way into the finished juice and the discarded pulp is very dry.

It is important to note that these individual design features are made more significant because of the way they compliment each other. In fact, I'd say none of these features would be of much benefit without the others, but together the jumbo feed tube, high powered motor, centered feed path, efficient cutting mechanism and filtration all work exceptionally well together. Juicing time is reduced by 90% compared to other juicers.

There are more nice features too, like the extra large pulp container, which is designed to fit a standard plastic grocery bag. It is very convenient and requires little attention. The pulp comes out dry and light and ready to be tossed or saved for use in other recipes allowing for simple fast clean up. In fact, the Juice Fountain's clean up routine is pretty simple all the way around. With only 4 removable parts, each of which is dishwasher safe and rounded smooth corners to prevent build up, rinsing and hand washing can be done in minutes. A cleaning brush is included for use on the micro-mesh cutter and filter.

You also get Breville's froth separator feature. Juicers know that some combinations can produce a frothy residue on top of the finished product regardless of which machine you use. The separator permits the user to regulate the flow or block it. Some people like the froth, some like only a little and others don't like any. Whichever your preference, the froth separator will accommodate you.
